What stunning looking cars these C Types were when Jaguar first showed them. The car used the running gear (Moss gearbox) of the contemporary road proven XK120 in a lightweight tubular frame (devised by William Heynes) and aerodynamic aluminium body designed by Malcolm Sayer. A total of 53 C-Types were built, 43 of which were sold to private owners mainly in the US.
They were mainly used for competition but a number were used as private road cars. With so very few ever made and the fact that the most recent selling price at auction for a C Type was £8.4m, its little surprise that the market for replica C Types is quite large. There are a number of makers but we have decided to build our own.
The body and interior will be an exact copy of an original but underneath we have chosen the proven mechanical of a contemporary XJ6 with a 4.2 litre engine completely overhauled and modernized. The car will have a 5 speed gearbox and also have the latest braking and electrical systems. Power steering too if so required.
This will be a car that will look like a 50s car but with the reliability and driveability of a modern.
Finished in a colour and leather interior of your choice the car will also wear a dateless registration plate. Please contact with your requirements.
