VIN# SAJJSADS3EK179258, Engine# 8W10490HB.
This must be one of the rarest Jaguars ever produced:
The only one!!!!!!.
This car was built as a standard xjs car on 30/01/1991 and delivered to Jaguar Sport for building into an XJRS convertible complete with rear seats for the Jaguar development program and European homologation. The car received a new chassis/engine number on 19/04/1991 and was re-stamped by Jaguar. At the time it was intended to produce further RHD and European convertibles but this never happened. This is likely the only surviving original RHD XJRS 6.0litre convertible as although it was rumored that possibly other development cars were built, I am not aware of any others that survived. Subsequently 50 LHD versions were produced for the US market where they are highly sort after. This car was retained by Jaguar Sport for use and evaluation before being released to Guy Salmon dealership for sale in Feb 1992.
Supporting documentation from Paul Davis and Ian Harrop, senior engineer at Jaguar Sport and Michael Scott J.D.H.T. and the National Motor Museum remains with the car along with original facelift XJRS brochure and a copy of Jaguar World which featured the car in Feb 2010.
Having covered only 46,250 mls it is in excellent condition both inside and out, has been kept in a heated sealed garage, dry stored most of it's life and no expense has been spared on maintenance.
