Finished in stunning 372 Lazurite blue with as new black leather interior, this is a simply beautiful and incredible example of the now becoming sought after R170 SLK. This first incarnation of the SLK roadster is in my opinion, and that of quite a few others too, sure to become a classic in the not very distant future, for two reasons; one, it was the first mass production vehicle to feature a very clever full folding hard top, and secondly its replacement, the R171 SLK is frankly ugly, and to compound that, it's ultra complicated too and not as well built.
Supplied by Mercedes Benz of Chichester, this car was originally registered by them, as a demonstrator, before being sold three months later to it's long tern lady owner. She religiously had servicing carried out by the same supplying dealer, until she decided to sell the car in 2015. It was latterly sold through a high end prestige car dealership, to its next owner, and a customer of mine, who is a self confessed perfectionist when it comes to cars. Unfortunately, although he liked open top motoring, his wife didn't and to restore marital harmony, the decision to sell was taken, hence it's here with me now. Examples this good don't come around too often, so I was happy to take it into the MTSV fold.
There's seven stamps in the service booklet, with all but one from the supplying dealership, indicating scheduled services have been carried out at 11,008 miles, 13,318 miles, 15,894 miles, 19,448 miles, 21,882 miles, 23,619 miles and the last at 25, 452 miles. This clearly indicates the car has been correctly serviced at the required timed intervals, not at mileage intervals, as many low mileage cars tend to be. There's also a large file of bills, invoices and old MOT certificates to substantiate the service stamps and more than verify the very low mileage. In fact the service history is pretty much watertight and right up-to-date.
The condition of this car is simply incredible, and I firmly believe it's one of the very best R170 SLK's currently on offer anywhere. The pictures speak for themselves; it's absolutely spotless inside, outside on top and underneath. Thankfully. unlike many SLK's of this vintage, it was specified without the hideous and sometimes garish dual colour "Designo" interiors which do not to age well, and look awful once the colour starts flaking off around the hand brake and gear shift. Conversely, the understated, yet classy black interior of this car, still looks, feels and smells like that of a new car.
Obviously at a very low mileage of 26,000, it's mechanically spot on, and still feels very much like a new car to drive. Being the 2.3 Litre Supercharged version, it's also very quick too, however still manages to return decent fuel economy. Together with their sharp, yet forgiving handling, make these great fun to drive, either with the roof on or off. Also, as its started life off as a demonstrator, its also very well specified too, with everything working exactly as it should, including the fabulous folding hard top.
Finally, I concede this isn't one of the cheapest R170's on the market, but equally isn't one of the dearest either. That said, I do think it's one of the very best out there, and there's absolutely nothing that will need doing. Sure, you can buy these cars for a few grand, but be prepared spend that again if you get it wrong!. Why not just buy a good one in the first place and save yourself the hassle!.
For a limited period only (until 12/11/16), I've reduced the price by £1000 to £7995. If it doesn't sell in that time, then it will be withdrawn from sale and will be put into storage.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at http://www.mtsv.co.uk

Finally, I'm situated in Keighley (pronounced keith-ley), West Yorkshire (Postal Code Area BD21) which is approximately 11 miles from Skipton, and 20 miles West of Leeds.
