1978 MGB Roadster in lovely original condition. NOW SOLD Wanted
NOW SOLD. SIMILAR VEHICLES ALWAYS REQUIRED
Offered here is a superb and original MGB Roadster having covered just 62'000 miles from new. Originally registered in the Isle of Man, the car was repatriated in 1992 and has had just 2 former keepers since. There is every MOT but one, which helps to verify the mileage of the car. Upon arrival in the UK, the car had covered just 48'000 miles.
Finished in Damask Red, the bodywork on the car is excellent. There is no rust or rot, panel gaps are perfect, the panels are lovely and straight and appear all original. From what I can ascertain, the car has never been welded and the floors/sills/castle sections/boot floor etc are all in excellent original order. The car presents beautifully with only the merest of age related wear.
The interior too is in excellent original order. The original grey deckchair fabric remains in great condition. All trim, door cards, switchgear etc is original and that too remains in great condition. Everything works as it should.
The hood is in very good condition with virtually no wear and is leak free. The rear windows are clear and free from damage. The car comes with both half and full tonneau covers.
The original 'rostyle' wheels are in excellent order and wear chrome trims and matching chrome wheel nuts.
On the road the car performs faultlessly. A really nice driving MGB with no obvious issue. Under the bonnet too is nicely original and commensurate with the low mileage and subtle improvements such as K&N air filters and uprated camshaft, help to improve the driving experience. There is evidence of a comprehensive engine rebuild at 50'000 miles.
There is some good history with the car including almost all previous MOT certificates which help verify the low mileage, along with numerous receipts and invoices for previous works. This MGB has clearly been very much loved and cared for over its 38 years!
In conclusion, a superb example of a late MGB roadster with low owners, low mileage and good history, not to be confused with the many inferior cars offered for sale. Anyone looking for one of these classic British sports cars will not be disappointed.
