1974 Jaguar E-Type / Series 3 V12 with only 21k miles. For Sale

Prindiville are delighted to offer this Series 3 E-Type finished in Sable on Cinnamon. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE FOR AN INTERACTIVE 360 INTERIOR VIEW. The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre twelve-cylinder Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. Optionally an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning was available. The brand new V12 engine was originally developed for the Le Mans series. It was equipped with four Zenith carburettors. The final engine was claimed produced 272 hp, massive torque and an acceleration of 0-60 mph in less than 7 seconds. Although this bhp figure was reduced in later production. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued and the V12 was available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. Equipment: RHD, Chrome wire wheels, Front bumper guard, Kienzle dash clock, Map lights, Manual dial illumination, Arm rest, Ash tray, fire extinguisher, Black leather dash, Leather steering wheel, Alpine head-unit, Pioneer two-way surround sound. EXTERIOR: The fabulous E-Type continues to endure as a design master piece and although the purity of performance has been somewhat diluted for practicality and safety purposes over the years, the style and presence is unmistakable. This example is finished in a somber shade of Sable which presents well, with chromed areas such as the door handles, wing mirrors, glass surrounds and headlight covers show in superb order with excellent fit and finish. The hood, which is a wonderful contrast to the Sable paint work is finished in a wonderful caramel colour. With a few clips to undo, it’s an easy affair to take this E-Type into alfresco mode. INTERIOR: The brown theme continues with the cabin of this car finished in cinnamon. The leather dash, steering wheel and centre console, presented in black add contrast and cut the coffee colour coding. The interior shows in fabulous condition and echoes careful ownership. This example has had an Alpine head-unit retro fitted to allow the occupants to enjoy their favoured tunes at easy accessibility. All gauges read clean and show in superb condition with no scratches; carpets follow similar suit with no signs of abnormal use. HISTORY: Most recently the car has been under the stewardship of classic car experts, Webster & Lancaster. Last year the car had various work carried out including replacement of all belts, fuel lines, mounts and vacuum hoses to name a few. Delivered to Walter E Sturgess, Leicester on the 13th March 1974. Supplied with the original owners pack, production record trace certificate, V5C and a host of invoices and MoT certificate’s vouching for the low mileage covered. Available to view at our Canary Wharf showroom, this E-Type is on the button and ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
