In 1995 there were over 684,000 Austin Metros licensed for road use in the UK but, according to the web site, How Many Left, by the beginning of 2016 this number had dropped to only 176.
This example, a 1983 Metro Mkl 1.3 Automatic, is in excellent condition and needs to be seen to be appreciated.
It was registered new in late December 1983 to a company that owned it for only two years. It was then bought by a lady in February 1986 who kept it for 30 years until September 2016 when it was bought by an enthusiast.
It appears to have been in storage for a while as the enthusiast had to fit a replacement petrol tank and clean the fuel system to get the car mobile. When we acquired it we presented it for an MOT and after adjusting the brakes, it passed without a problem.
The history file contains the current V5 Registration Document, the current MOT which runs until March 2018, the clear HPI report, an original old style V5 log book and the stamped up Service Book.
Rules that commenced in October 2014 mean that the car will be licensed from the date of sale for the new owner if required.
The current mileage reading is only 45338 miles and this car is likely to be an excellent investment.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and see it in our Leeds showroom.
