An exhilarating MGF 1.8i with just 21,878 miles and one private owner.
Reinforced body structure, door side intrusion beams, drivers airbag, body-colour bumpers and trim, tinted glass, bright sill finishers, seat belt pretensioners, fuel tank cage, high tensile tubes in A pillars, impact absorbing front and rear structures, laminated windscreen, high level brake lamp, remote central with superlocking, Thatcham Category 2 immobiliser, perimetric and volumetric alarm system, electric windows, halogen headlamps, heated electric door mirrors, hood cover, drop down bin and cup holders, classic MG drilled accelerator pedal. Dealer accessories; MG X-Power Speedster Roll-Hoops.
This beautiful thoroughbred is finished in vibrant Solar Red, (Code CMU). The original factory paintwork boasts an incredible bright uniform shine and is wonderfully preserved thanks to careful sole ownership and garage storage from new. The Supagarded panels are free from corrosion with just the faintest of stone chips to the bonnet in an otherwise virtually unmarked body. All trim sections are remarkably well kept and fully commensurate with such a low mileage example and the supplying dealer stickers, tax disc holder, manufacturer badges and Union Jack wing plates remain present. The original tailor made fabric hood is effortless in operation with the plastic rear screen showing very minor discolouration but free from crease marks. A versatile modern classic.
The comfortable cockpit oozes a sense of purpose and promise of the exhilarating drive ahead. The supportive sports seats are trimmed in an authentic Walnut Mirage cloth, (Code SAV), and are in fantastic condition as are the door cards and black carpeting adhering to such cosseted ownership and little use. The flawless dashboard houses fully functioning switchgear and the silver faced dials, chunky leather trimmed steering wheel and alloy gear knob accentuate the sporting nature. A beautifully cherished and exceptionally well preserved example.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The four cylinder 1796cc engine produces 120bhp at 5500rpm and 165Nm torque at 3000rpm enabling a top speed of 120mph and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration processes all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 15inch eight-spoke style alloy wheels with the MG logo are in pristine condition surrounded by 185/55 R15 tyres up front and 205/50 R15 at the rear. The spare wheel remains unused. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs offer positive stopping power.
Registered new by MG Rover Main Agent, Horners Limited of Manchester on the 3rd August 2001 before Mrs Frary took ownership on the 21st September 2001. Not prepared to wait for her favourite colour combination she purchased the dealers car for £14,338. Being the conscientious type the original purchase invoice reveals an extra £199 paid for Supaguard paint protection. Mrs Frary has been the only careful custodian since September 2001 keeping the car garaged, well maintained and for pleasure use only. The low mileage of just 21,878 is warranted. The first five service entries were back to the supplying dealer with independent servicing thereafter. The owner held a Horners Gold Membership card due to loyalty. All old tax discs have been kept and the original handbooks, service book and instruction pamphlets are contained in the black leather MG wallet. A sales brochure from 2001 completes the history file and both sets of keys with the supplying dealer leather key fobs are included.
An unspoiled and prized MGF, wanting for nothing and ready for summer entertainment!
