1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider by Touring of Milan 2nd.Series LHD. This is one of a total of only 2255 Spiders built of both series. Finished in Rosso with Black Hide interior with Black Mohair hood and contrasting carpets this example was delivered new in Rome and was then used by the Italian Embassy in New York. Later it was purchased by David Switzer and brought to Hollywood California. It was then brought back to Germany in 2005 by OKP Engineering in Munich. The car was in excellent original condition and rust free , but it was decided to restore the entire car to as-new condition and a 2600 hour restoration commenced in January 2006 with the vehicle being taken back to a bare shell and all mechanical parts disassembled prior to being rebuilt with some updates including chrome wire wheels, Weber DCOE-45,S and electronic ignition. It was then finished and tuned by the Alfa Classic Centre in Dortmund. Details of all parts replaced and all mechanical and bodywork/repainting are in the history file with a supporting picture file. Documented by the Alfa 2600 Spider Register since 1986. The car comes complete with handbooks , parts book, workshop manual and original sales brochure. Following completion of the restoration the car was purchased by a significant UK collector where it formed part of his large collection and remains in as-new condition to this day .
