Now becoming very rare and highly sought after, this totally standard and unmolested 190E 2.6 has covered a well below average 100,300 miles, and has been extremely well maintained throughout its entire life, as demonstrated in its impressive service history. This is directly reflected in the way in which it drives; its truly sublime, and in my opinion, it makes even the most expensive modern prestige cars feel cheap in comparison. The W201 190E 2.6 was recently voted as one of the best top ten cars of all time by a panel of respected motoring journalists, and its not at all difficult so see how they arrived at that conclusion; I've always maintained the syrupy smooth M103 "Straight Six", transformed the W201 into something rather special, a match made in heaven some would even say.
Bodywork on this car is surely it's party piece, being incredibly straight and rust free, in fact its one of the best I've seen in a very long time. The interior also follows the same theme and is unmarked with the rear seat looking like its hardly been used.
Mechanically, like any well looked after Mercedes of this era, its simply incredible; the uncompromising standards these cars were built to back in that golden age really shine through. Back then quality and excellence in engineering came first, while cost was a secondary concern.
This is also car I know very well too, having sold it twice before, originally to a hospital consultant from Ripon it in 2011, and more latterly to a gentleman from Hertfordshire in 2014. However, due to a recent change in his work circumstances, he found he wasn't getting the time to enjoy the vehicle, hence decided to sell. With the recent (and well overdue) surge in popularity of the 190E 2.6, I jumped at the chance to take this car back into the MTSV fold, especially as excellent examples like this are becoming so difficult to find these days. I'm pleased to report it's as good as ever, again having been maintained regardless of cost, something this car has been lucky enough to benefit from throughout its life. So, if you're in the market for a quality, well sorted 190E 2.6, this may well be for you. In my opinion, and in that of many others too, it won't be long before this model is worth very serious money indeed; just look at the way the values of the 16 valve (Cosworth) models have risen. Considering the 190E 2.6 is an infinitely more pleasant car to drive, and almost as fast, its easy to see why their popularity it surging now; these are simply fantastic cars, just speak to anyone who's owned or driven one!
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at http://www.mtsv.co.uk
