The Honda NSX is different from any other classic sports car - It’s a genuine sports car that all owners and drivers can enjoy.
It’ll be a joy to own: Beautiful design; beautiful engineering; super-rare (you will never park next to another one); discrete; elegant; esoteric; reliable; comparatively cheap to run; and – crucially - it’s not going to go down in value. Compared to the equivalent Porsche or Ferrari, the NSX is currently undervalued.
It’ll be a joy to drive: Comfortable, satisfying, effortless, with brilliant handling.
If you are reading this you’ll be interested in acquiring an NSX. So, what’s the best NSX to buy? What will be the best to drive?
It’s no surprise to learn that the best price (and hence the best investment) for any classic car will go to:
a) the rarest cars, where demand exceeds supply;
b) those cars with the best provenance (that usually means UK-supplied cars with full history);
c) those cars that show light, consistent use (often super-low mileage cars will develop faults through lack of use); and
d) that are maintained in the best condition.
This car ticks all the boxes: This “Facelift’ Manual NSX Coupe is the rarest (only 19 cars were sold in 2005 – the last year of production). It was supplied new on 31 March 2005 by Honda Bristol. It has a full service history with 12 Honda main dealer stamps in the service book. It has covered 39,000 miles and the service history and MOTs show light, regular use. It has beautiful Berlina Black paintwork with black perforated leather seats. We have known the two previous owners and this car has been fastidiously maintained and cared for as part of the owners’ car collections.
Its 3.2 litre 24 valve aluminium (with titanium con-rods) engine is superb, with noticeably more torque than it’s 3.0 litre predecessor. The 6-speed gearbox is easy to use, with light clutch, smooth gear change and perfect ratios.
If your intention is to have it as an investment and sell on at a later date; or to drive everyday and enjoy; or just to keep, treasure, and derive that unique pleasure of ownership, it doesn’t matter. This is simply one of the best NSX available today.
Is all the above just sales talk? Or the result of our passion for the NSX? Do you share our view that the NSX one of the best classic sports cars money can buy? Do you agree? Better still, come down and have a test drive and decide for yourself.
