Front axle assembly, with brakes ( probably Whitehead or Rubery proprietary units ),steering arms, trackrod, one useable 19" roadwheel + 2 additional wheel centres, pair of front springs with chassis brackets, & a pair of dumb iron brackets off another vehicle.
Details-wheel studs,5 at 2&3/16" centres-10 good plated wheel nuts.
Wheel centres-these are designed as conversion units to bolt straight onto hubs intended for artillery road wheels, so the thickness of the centres is 1&3/16" accordingly, with hub stud lengths to suit. They are drilled for 60 spokes-(40 on inner & 20 on outer sides of rim.
Brakes-10" diameter, in good condition-hubs spin freely & no play at lever pivots.Alloy back plates in good condition.
Axle beam-1&1/4" wide & 1&3/4" deep. Has been drilled twice at centre area, to receive bolted connections of split trackrod, with ends flattened & drilled. Trackrod requires new centre section letting-in, therefore.
Dimensions-track (centre to centre of wheel rims) is 50"
Spring mounting pad centre to centre dim. is 24&5/8"
Width of springs (& pad drillings) is 1&1/2".
Road springs are complete with front & rear chassis mounting brackets (sized for 2" wide chassis flange). The spring leaves are probably too rusty to use, but the forged axle- to- spring shackle bolts are excellent.
A pair of traditional curved chassis front dumb irons from another vehicle, for 2" springs, is available separately if required (see photo).
NOTE-this is a genuine VSCC acceptable, date wise, assembly. It is fairly similar to an Alvis, side valve Riley,etc.set-up, & is in generally good condition. Very hard to find such an item nowadays.
These are new Austin 7 rear hub spanners that allow you to hold the hub whilst tightening the halfshaft nut.
Price is for UK only.
I do have a good contact in New Zealand, if I get enough interest to send a batch to.
