First Registration: 20th November 1968 (imported to the UK 24th May 2010)
In 1969 Porsche produced just 954 911E Coupes. The car was manufactured on the 2nd September 1968 making it one of the first B Series (Long wheelbase) cars produced. This particular vehicle has undergone an extensive 4 year restoration to a very high standard. This excellent example has retained its originality by using every original part of the car wherever possible instead of simply replacing worn items with new parts. The engine, transmission and drive shafts were reconditioned by Mike Bainbridge of MB Porsche Engineering. The car was recorded with a catalogue of pictures that document its progress from start to finish. Intended as the luxury model the 911E came standard with the comfort package of features which included the longer wheelbase and comfort seats. Another key development for the 911E came in the form of Mechanical Fuel Injection which was jointly developed by Porsche and Bosch for this car. The MFI contributed toward meeting the nascent emissions control regulations of the time. The 1969 types 911E and 911S also featured a new high-voltage capacitor ignition system that addressed the spark plug fouling problems experienced in earlier 911s. The car was imported to Los Angeles from the Zuffenhausen factory and lived its life in California, USA around the San Francisco area before being purchased and taken to the UK on the 24th May 2010.
