This a car I know very well, having previously sold it in 2014. The owner, who's also club member, and has shown this car at a couple of events, has now upgraded to an R129 SL, so I didn't have to be asked twice if I wanted to take it back into the MTSV fold again; examples like this are hardly growing on trees; something you'll know very well if you're looking for one!.
This is an absolutely stunning example of the what I think is the pinnacle of the production run of the W124 Coupe, before standards started to slip€ around 1993, with the advent of the facelift cars, and all the problems they brought with them (engine wiring looms, more complex engine electrics, corrosion etc). Notwithstanding that, this car also features the highly desirable Sportline option, I think making it probably the most desirable incarnation of the now very sought after W124 model range, after the ultra rare AMG versions.
Ordered at Cross Keys Mercedes, Taunton, and collected by from the Mercedes factory in Singelfinden ,by the first owner, this car came with a host of very expensive extras, that pushed its final selling price from the "basic" £28,171 +Vat, to a whacking £43,904.50 when new. The original order form and sales invoice is in the extensive service history file, to verify this. The first owner kept the car for the next 11 years, before selling it to a gentleman in Surrey. It's clear that this vehicle was garaged throughout much of it's life, as it's in such stunning condition; in fact I don't you won't find very many, if any, better.
Everything works as it should, and as you'd rightly expect, especially with this example have been specified with the Sport Chassis option, the drive is both tight and sure footed, yet compliant and comfortable. The inherent solid nature of these cars puts many modern prestige cars to shame; there's none of the squeaks or rattles usually associated with a vehicle of this age.
So, go look and the rest, then come and see this one. Everyone who sees it comments on just how beautiful this car is, it really is gem, and I think one of the best examples of its type. I know these cars are meant to be used, but they can rightly been seen as an investment too, with values having risen strongly over the last three years, a trend that's set to continue as the supply of best examples dry up.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at - details above
