1931; 2 Seater MG F Magna Supercharged (by Godfrey Marshall and totally reconditioned by specialist Derek Chin Ltd); Green/Full Apple Green Connolly Hide by Collingburn (the Best prewar MG upholsterer) together with full set of side screens, roof & tonneau; Electric Fuel Pump; Adamant Steering Box as used by MG on the Le Mans Race Cars. Sports Body; 6 Cylinder N Type (totally rebuilt by Baynton Jones to fast road spec with all internals totally new including Crank Shaft); 1272cc (the only 6 cylinder chassis fitted with cycle wings from the factory) with a Virtual K3 Drive-Train.
This car was completely stripped and rebuilt to original factory specification but with the modification of an ENV pre-select gearbox (supplied and fitted by Baynton Jones) in place of ENV manual box, fully panelled L2 body, fitted on the nose with a Marshall J100 supercharger with single Carburettor, Dash L2 with all original instruments reconditioned and radiator rebuilt with new shell and honeycomb.
Blockley Tyres supplied 2 new wheels, 3 reconditioned and 5 new tyres and tubes.
The Brake system was totally rebuilt by Barry Foster using 4 new drums, brake plates, shoes, etc and ribs/shafts. Rear axle rebuilt by Barry Forster - Baynton Jones then fitted new High ratio Diff.
New fuel tank, pipes and pump, Steering Box and Components reconditioned by Barry Foster, seats by Collingburn, new hood and side windows, new road springs covered by Prichard Gaiters, new badge, shocks by Mike Dowley and new electrical system including re wire and rebuilt components.
The car has covered 600 mls only since total engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and supercharger overhaul. Parts were mainly supplied by Sports and Vintage Motors LTD in Shrewsbury, with total restoration bills totalling approximately 55,000 GBP.
This vehicle was granted a FIVA Certificate this year.
Participated in The Silver Flag Hill Climb, at Vernasca, Italy in June 2017.
