A lovely blue 1600cc coupe with patina & newly upholstered light blue leather seats, plus 5 speed highgear conversion. Recent back to chassis rebuild & unlike many,
fully undersealed as part of the rebuild, copper brake lines & largely undirtied through sparing use since. These cars are are around 60-65 years old now, so a recent back to chassis rebuild is absolutely essential if you want a properly restored MGA in genuinely good repair. This one was undertaken by the previous owner with pogressive photos.
The unusual light blue leather seats with decorative stitching against the darker blue exterior give bluebird a unique feel. Its a charming example, particularly for those who prefer blue .
For those who are not so familiar with mga's, the proprietary manufactured higear 5 speed gearbox conversion really changes the scope of these cars. Once fitted motorways & continental touring become a real possibility, as the fifth gear produces a significantly higher cruising speed, also saving on fuel & engine wear. Although we still have the 4 speed gearbox to pass on with the car which is in good working order too.
Seasonal maintenance this & last year as follows;
front suspension overhaul;
new wheel bearings all round;
new front brake calipers & discs;
rear brake overhaul;
stainless steel exhaust
new fuel tank
new steering wheel
Carburettors tuned & balanced
Blue bird can also be viewed on ramps at leisure by prospective buyers where it is for sale.
Apart from the colour & 5 speed box, Blue Bird is a bulk standard '59 mga which has been used spareingly by the prevoius & existing owner, but maintained generously,
priced to sell, with some give & take, & ready to go.
Well restored MG MGA Roadster from 1959. Very clean condition with clean and tight body. Engine runs superb and car handles like it should. Comes with nearly new chrome wire wheels. There's been made.....
This is my MGA MK1 1956 ROADSTER restoration project, it is in London and has come from the good old USA and is a restoration project ...it has fibreglass wings which I guess are for making it lighter,.....
