The Morris Minor was a British economy car that debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show on 20th September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, over 1. 3 million examples were manufactured from 1948-1971. Initially available as a two-door saloon and convertible, the range was subsequently expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950 and wood-framed estate, The Traveller, plus the panel van and pick-up truck variants in 1952. The Traveller featured an external structural ash frame for the rear bodywork, with two side-hinged rear doors. The frame was varnished rather than painted and became a highly visible feature of the body style. Other changes included a modified dashboard layout with toggle switches, textured steel instrument binnacle, and larger convex glove box covers. A different heater completed the interior upgrade, whilst the larger, more modern combined front side/ indicator light units, common to many BMC vehicles of the time, were fitted to the front wings. During the life of the Minor 1000 model, production declined; the last Convertible was manufactured on 18th August 1969 and the saloon line was discontinued the following year. Almost 850, 000 Morris Minor 1000s were made in all. The car was officially superseded by the Morris Marina, which replaced it on the Cowley production line.

This Traveller in particular has been fully restored to class one condition, with various practicality upgrades fitted including a lead free 1275cc engine that has been fully reconditioned and planted in the vehicle in March of last year with the ancillaries such as the rotor/ points, filters, throttle cable all being replaced. Further upgrades include the installation of a five speed gearbox with a new clutch and propshaft, during this time the suspension throughout had been converted to telescopics. On the electronics side there has been the dynamo to alternator conversion and electronic ignition with addition of a S. U electric fuel pump being installed.
The front brakes have been converted to discs with servo assistance.
Aesthetically the vehicle had been repainted to the original colour of Snowberry White in 2014 and the flawless results give credit to the outstanding workmanship. The interior trim includes new front and rear seats, door liners, carpets, head lining and rear load area have all been replaced.
The vehicles chassis has also been wax protected throughout.
This outstanding example of the so desired Traveller, has been subject to thousands of pounds of expenditure and very gentle use.
