This incredibly rare R34 presents in a pristine coat of white. The finish of both the body and underside is impeccable following a complete repaint in the original colour by a renowned McLaren paint specialist. This was part of the car's comprehensive nut-and-bolt refresh, which has been carried out under the current ownership with no expense spared.
Converted at the Omori Factory by Nismo at a cost of approximately £30k back in the day, the R-Tune is equipped with numerous visual upgrades over the standard V-Spec II Nür. Unique features include the R-Tune carbon-fibre bonnet, R-Tune aero bumper, R-Tune side skirts, and an R-Tune rear under-spoiler. This particular example also boasts Z-Tune carbon front wings and rear wheel arch spats for an even more commanding presence.
Finished to the highest possible standard the quality of this GTR really must be seen to be believed. Having covered zero miles since the work was completed, the carbon-fibre laced underside also remains in pristine order. Well over 350 photographs document the extensive refresh, which involved removal of the engine plus a complete strip and rebuild of all underside components, thus ensuring the entire car was returned to as-new condition throughout.
The cabin remains in excellent original order. The bucketed front seats are in first-class shape, with the unmarked upholstery in truly time warp condition. There is no wear present to any of the bolsters and no discolouration to any of the fabric. On close inspection the leather GTR steering wheel still retains a factory-fresh texture. The carpets are also unmarked and are protected in the footwells by a set of Nismo overmats front and rear.
Additional features to the standard interior include a Nismo titanium gear knob, HKS A-pillar gauges, and the Nismo Version II MFD (multi-function display). The MFD upgrade enhances the display with additional details, increased range, and adds full data logging and analysis. Front-Back G and Lateral G are also displayed. The centre console is also equipped with a Kenwood CD/DVD player.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Lifting the vented carbon fibre R-Tune bonnet reveals a pristine engine bay. The 2.6-litre R-Tune engine, designated the R1, not only gained a new turbocharger and racing camshaft at Nismo, but also received the hot-rod treatment, including full balancing and polished ports. Further enhancements from the factory include an upgraded intercooler, radiator, and oil cooler. The car has recently been dyno'd and runs just as it should from the Omori Factory.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The car sits on a brand new set of 18-inch Nismo LMGT4 Omori Factory Spec wheels finished in gloss black. Fresh out of the box they present in impeccable condition with no marking whatsoever. The alloys are shod in a brand new set of Federal 595 RS-R tyres with no wear at all.
Stopping power is provided by a set of Stoptech brake discs and newly refurbished Stoptech calipers all round. S-Tune suspension means the ride and handling is far better suited to road use than the otherwise harsh R-Tune setup.
This Nismo R-Tune, with just 20k miles on the clock from new, is very well known in the GTR Owners Club under previous ownership. It was displayed on the Nismo stand at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed and presents a unique opportunity to own a very rare, investment-grade car.
