1963 Original Shell, Early Chassis, Unique F1 History For Sale
I purchased this early 1963 Morris Mini Cooper-S 1071cc in 1995 and drove it out of it's then garage onto my trailer. The former owner bought it from its first (titled) owner - to whom it was delivered by John Cooper (in person). It has a fascinating history and F1 association. The Mini was lightly restored in the late 90s (floors, new chrome work, repainted etc) and it has been in dry storage (unused) ever since. Restoration aside, it is 100% original (body shell, doors, interior, glass, running gear, the 1963 chassis plate, papers...). It still has the special order 1963 alloy wheels (10"), reclining bucket seats and Les Leston steering wheel. It is a very early VIN - and I was told (by a Cooper S expert) that it is probably the oldest surviving original Cooper-S in the world. I've never attempted to verify this but I'm happy to tell you what I do know about it's background. Please telephone me if you'd like further information and a set of detailed images. If you do email a request or question, kindly provide your full name and contact details (sorry, but anonymous requests will receive no reply). Separately, I also have a superb 1962 Austin Mini Van - and - a (believed pre-production) 1959 Mini for sale (phone for pricing). Both have been in my ownership longer than 20 years. Thanks for your interest.
