Talbot Lago T23 Coupe 1937 SOLD SOLD
For the past decade the car has been used minimally and the owner has chosen to preserve the car and enjoy the qualities of a largely original Talbot with this fine coupe coachwork. Condition throughout is good, , featuring paint that is about 30 years old with excellent panel fit accented by chrome trim. The exterior of the car is both elegant and fitting on the 2 door Talbot. The beautifully sculpted fenders and running board drape the low cowl and hood lines. Truly this car serves both purposes - sport and elegance.
Front seats are roomy, and comfortable and certainly suitable for long distance driving. Rear seats are large and open with wonderful brown leather that shows careful wear. Further review of the undercarriage confirms it is solid car ready to enjoy. She even has her original rubber floor mats and all instruments are in wonderful shape.
The car starts easily, has no engine smoke and idles smoothly without hesitation. Gear selection for the 4 speed is easily handled via the Wilson pre-select. The chassis is solid, very straight and super solid. Once underway the car is delightfully easy to drive with excellent visibility and smooth ride. While certainly not a sports car by modern standards, the power is quite good for a large four-passenger coupe vehicle. The car is accompanied by documentation including ownership papers consisting of a V5 United Kingdom , numerous letters referencing the car and receipts for services performed on the car along with 8 years of MOT certificates.
This elegant and stunning short wheelbase T23 Coupe represents one of the finest Talbot-Lago factory coachbuilt designs of the prewar era. Among the most desirable French sporting automobiles ever built, the T23 stands as a great opportunity for a collector to drive, show or hedge with a strong upsurge in Pre-War Talbots of this caliber.
I have her at my summer house in France currently, ready to drive. Can arrange delivery without a problem.
A pre-war Talbot Lago T23 is unheard of for under 150, 000 pounds. Selling due to loss of garage. SOLD SOLD SOLD !!!!
