2001 STUNNING MINT ALFA ROMEO 156 TWIN SPARK For Sale

UNIQUE, ONE-OFF OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A MINT/SHOWROOM CONDITION 2001 pre-facelift/original shape Alfa Romeo 156 Twin Spark Veloce that has been RESTORED TO NEAR CONCOURS STANDARD using many new genuine Alfa parts. This is the top 'Veloce Sport Pack 2' version of the Twin Spark with slightly lowered suspension, side skirts, Momo leather interior, 16" teledial alloys and carbon fibre centre console. The body colour is flawless, professionally resprayed and polished black Nero Kyalami (original colour) with unmarked Momo red leather interior. Current owner since 2011. Matching engine and chassis numbers. Engine is 1.8 litre petrol for the best combination of pace/fuel economy/lower tax and insurance costs. This car has been the subject of a no-expense-spared, major nut-and-bolt restoration by Autolusso (largest independent Alfa Romeo specialists in the UK, their labour + parts invoice is over 8 pages) and other professionals costing over £22,000 in total to bring it to mint, near-concours/showroom condition. I have all the receipts in what is now a thick file. There is unlikely to be another 156 in the UK and perhaps anywhere else in this condition, unless it has spent all its life in a cocoon or museum from new and seldom used. The restoration included a major service with new cambelt, variator, water pump, air con pipe, coolant tank, radiator (OE not cheaper aftermarket), many new OEM interior/trim parts that are no longer available from Alfa due to the car's age (including NEW driver's seat Momo/OEM leather and seat cushions), plus a completely new front + rear suspension rebuild (including new suspension arms, springs, Bilstein B4 shocks, stripped/rebuilt and powder-coated calipers, aqua-blasted aluminium suspension parts, drilled and grooved new brake discs and stainless steel braided brake hoses, powder-coated subframes etc), new clutch, gearbox stripped and rebuilt, new Pirelli P7s, new lights, new OE windscreen (not a cheaper Autoglass replacement) and too many other new parts to list here. I even had the old wheel arch liners removed to clean and treat/seal the wheel arches to prevent future corrosion and four new OE wheel arch liners fitted, the steering wheel professionally retrimmed with perforated + smooth new leather, the exhaust manifold ceramic coated in Cermachrome, the underside of the car treated for any surface rust (mild only) and sealed, a new stainless steel CSC exhaust (made in Italy) etc etc. The bodyshop that resprayed the car (to remove stone chips and age-related minor imperfections only, NO accident damage or body corrosion) routinely works on Ferraris, Maseratis, Astons and classic F1 cars so the paintwork is of that high standard and a mirror finish. After painting the car was professionally detailed/polished including the engine bay. Reason for sale: I bought this car in 2011 as a present for my daughter (who wanted this model and colour) with the promise that, because it isn't possible to buy a new 156, I'd make it the best pre-facelift 156 TS in the UK. The car has been gradually restored in stages from 2011 to present, professionally dry stored in between restoration work (I have the storage receipts) and NEVER used as a daily driver or on wet roads because this car was never intended to be for me (I have two other cars for my own use). Due to a change of plans, my daughter has been offered a job abroad and won't now be coming to the UK, so the car is reluctantly offered for sale. I have receipts for every penny spent on it, which is now a large file. PLS NOTE: The car has been - and still is - dry stored with a professional car detailer (who works on supercars and who detailed this car) after restoration to preserve its newly restored/showroom condition, so this is NOT a car that was restored and then used after restoration. Its condition is still mint/showroom/as newly restored inside and out and underneath. PRICE: Regarding price, because there are no Glass's Guide, Parkers etc book values for restored 156s I am inviting REALISTIC OFFERS for this unique car. Since buying this car 8 years ago I have never seen another restored 156 TS advertised for sale. Not one. Therefore, the value of this car is what someone is willing to pay to own the best 156 TS in the UK and what I'm willing to let it go for. View the car, make me an offer and I'll tell you if it's acceptable or not. As a guide on price, I'm not expecting to get back all or most of what I spent on this car (over £22k), but obviously I want to minimise my loss and that means finding the right buyer who will really appreciate this car and the work/level of detail that's gone into it. ALL Alfas eventually become collectible, especially top spec. versions like this one that are in mint condition. For example, I've seen average, UNRESTORED 1.5 Alfasuds (which were notorious 70s rust buckets) being advertised for up to £8k, and a 156 is a much better car than an Alfasud with a bigger engine, leather interior and better rust proofing. I can provide many photos taken during and after its restoration plus a list of all the expenditure and new parts fitted. Because the condition of this car can't be compared to the usual worn-out 156s of this age with stone chips, scratches, dents, paint swirls, corroded suspensions, worn/damaged interiors and poor paintwork repairs, STANDARD BOOK VALUES DO NOT APPLY. THIS CAR WILL NOT BE OFFERED FOR SALE AT AVERAGE, UNRESTORED 156 SELLING PRICES so if your budget is limited to standard, unrestored 156 prices this car is not for you. Again, I'm inviting offers and will consider all realistic offers. Viewing/any inspection welcome and is strongly recommended to appreciate its condition. This car is likely to appeal to an Alfa enthusiast who: (1) is unimpressed with the current/recent Mito, Giulietta and 147 models (2) prefers the original shape 156 to the 2003 'Hannibal Lecter' facelift version (3) is looking for a MINT EXAMPLE of what is probably the best body colour and trim combination of the original 156 Twin Spark, and (4) is willing and able to pay a realistic figure to acquire what is probably the best 156 TS in the UK. It has not been possible to buy a new 156 since 2005. With the amount of money spent restoring this car and the large number of new Alfa/OEM parts (I have all the receipts) to make it the best pre-facelift 156 Twin Spark in the UK, this is the next best thing to owning a new 156 TS Veloce and a unique opportunity unlikely to be repeated. So, if you are seriously interested in owning the best 156 Twin Spark in the UK and think you can afford it, let me know your max. budget and I'll tell you if it's a figure I can work with. ** BTW I don't consider max. budget the same as an offer, which should be made AFTER viewing the car. It just lets me know if you can afford it before further correspondence, providing more photos and information etc. all of which takes time. I'm okay to do that for someone who really wants the best 156 TS available and who can afford it, but if not it's just a waste of everyone's time, including yours. It seems there are more than a few time wasters out there who have no intention of buying the car but contact me to tell me it's an "interesting project" or that they're looking for a 159, GTA etc or "What's the condition like, mate?"
