ROVER P5b Coupe 3.5 Litre V8 Automatic SOLD (1972)
|When new, Rover P5b's were used by Royalty and Government Ministers. Today, you only have to drive one a short distance to understand why they were held in such high esteem by the VIP's of the 1960's and 70's. They are a commanding presence when out on the road and a pleasure to drive. |
This wonderful example is the best P5b Coupe we have ever had the privilege to offer for sale.
It looks superb in Old English White with Black Leather Seats and Webasto sunroof.
It appears to have spent the majority of its life in the North East around the Middlesbrough area as a sticker on the dash names the supplying dealer as Ronnie Parkinson Ltd of Eastbourne Road Garage Middlesbrough and number of tax discs in the history file from the 1970's and 1990's were issued in Middlesbrough.
We believe that a long term owner of the car from 1995 to 2015 was from the same area and it was sold by his executors to a local Darlington dealer.
In 2016 it was acquired by an enthusiast from Yorkshire who has detailed the car and elevated it to exceptional show standard. Since then, he has taken the car to a number of prestigous car shows where it has been well regarded.
The documentation file contains the current V5, current MOT certificate, some previous MOT history, a number of expired road tax discs and literature from classic car shows that it has attended.
The MOT runs until May 2018 and the current mileage reading is 82118.
Rules that commenced in October 2014 mean that the car will need to be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner but this will be free as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
Very difficult to find in this condition.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and view the car in our Leeds showroom.
