Vintage and Prestige Fine Motor Cars are proud to be offering this 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper for sale. A magnificent low mileage example having covered a scant 48,000 miles since new. Ordered by one Stewart Kilpatrick of Thames Ditton, he did not relinquish ownership until 1961. During the war years was put up on blocks and not used again until being re-commissioned after his death whilst being sparingly used by members of his surviving family. The Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper drives beautifully with a tight taut feel to it and a strong silent powerful engine. Rolls-Royce issued their guarantee for the Rolls Royce Phantom I on 1st June 1928.
Coachwork is by the King of Coachbuilders, Hooper & Co taking the form of a versatile Sedanca Deville. The Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper carries echoes from the carriage building days with delightful carriage style moldings carried forwards from the front doors. It is finished in cream over black with a fabric roof covering. The front interior is black leather to the front and beautiful new red leather to the rear making the cabin a sumptuous place to recline. Twin occasional seats are fitted to the rear making for seating for seven people.
Pleasingly, the Rolls Royce interior retains all its original Hooper accoutrements. The woodwork is book matched Macassar Ebony of the highest quality. The original Dictaphone intercom is in its place and has been refurbished to full working order allowing those in the rear to give direction to the driver up front. Twin side mount spare wheels are fitted to the front or both running boards making for an imposing frontal appearance.
Under the bonnet the Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper is unchanged retaining the original under trays as fitted to the Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper when new. The only deviation from the standard specification is the fitment of a modern full flow oil filter. A large nickel klaxon horn is bolted to the bulkhead. To the rear is a compact motoring trunk. You really have to drive this Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper to appreciate how well it drives. Indeed, it gives one a feel as to how these Rolls Royce cars were when new. The history of the Rolls Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Hooper is comprehensive listing numerous owners and their addresses up to the present day.
