1978 Ferrari 308 GTS For Sale

Keys motorsport are proud to present this beautiful Ferrari 308 GTS for sale. An excellent LHD example imported from California in 2015
The Ferrari 308 range have always been of the most popular Ferrari tipo’s; offering thoroughly enjoyable driving experiences with affordable maintenance costs.

Coming from the dry state of California, the cars bodywork is remarkably corrosion free. Finished in rare ‘rosso rubino’ paint- it really does accentuate the body’s curves and lines very well. The paintwork is in exceptional condition throughout.
Unlike many UK cars that will have had replacement panels during their lives, this car hasn’t and wears its original body panels which are all pristine and rust free. This outstanding condition extends to the hidden areas of the bodywork such as the inside of panels etc.
The US bumpers have been adapted to EU specification and really do enhance the look tenfold.

Interior: The interior is beautifully original, finished in ‘sabbia’ with a wonderful patina. Rare to see a 70’s 308 with original interior (especially from warm climates) carpets are also original, foot mats are pristine due to over mats, it’s refreshing to see a car that has clearly been cherished but retaining original charm. The car retains its original stereo system which works perfectly as do all other electric functions.

Engine: The car has very recently benefited from a major service by ourselves which included cam belts and tensioner bearings, water pump as well as all fluids replaced. While we were doing so we removed the US smog pump and changed the carburettors for EU spec carbs we had. The engine bay itself is very clean and it is evident that the car has been kept dry all of its life and maintained thoroughly.
The engine starts up with ease and demonstrates excellent oil pressure, once suitably warm it revs clean and strong throughout the rev range and gears. The car has excellent power and purrs along akin to a modern car.

Clutch and gearbox: The gearbox is an absolute joy to operate with no noises or whines in any gear and slides into each gear with ease. The clutch is also without fault and has a great amount of feel with no juddering or slipping.

Suspension and under body:
The underneath (as you would expect from a kinder climate than ours) is corrosion free and straight with no indication of any previous damage. The suspension doesn’t suffer from any of the UK corrosion and looks remarkably pleasing to the eye.
The car handles great and offers the charm that only a 70’s Ferrari can offer.

Brakes: The brakes stop you with confidence and offer a great deal of ‘feel’. The pads all have ample service life remaining as do the discs

Wheels and tyres: The wheels look bright and complement the car nicely. They are in very good condition and roll straight without vibration, tyres are Michelin ‘pilot sports’ in good condition with plenty of use left in them.

History: The car has a wonderful history that is neatly arranged in a full folder. The history extends all the way back to the cars earliest years and documents all work undertaken over the years. It is incredibly rare to find a 308 with such a well documented history file. The file backs up the very low mileage. The car comes complete with the original spare wheel. And jack kit.

This is a beautiful example of a 308 GTS, finished in a very rare and beautiful colour scheme that drives superbly and is refreshingly original, complimented with a fantastic history file and 12 months MOT, the car is fully Uk registered and is ready to delight its next lucky owner.
