Type S Jaguar, 3.8 Automatic 1966, sports saloon For Sale
Registration NPJ28D with 80,500 recorded miles.
I am offering this lovely example of an honest car, in superb driving condition, to be used and enjoyed as the grand tourer that it truly is. It is acknowledged as the original “Gangster” car from the 60’s and 70’s and superior to the comparatively over-rated Mark II version. This is a genuinely reluctant sale.
The headline features: Finished in Warwick Grey, 6 in line cylinders, 3781cc, 220bhp, torque 325Nm @ 3000rpm, four-wheel servo assisted disc braking system, 0-60 in 11.5 sec, max speed 116mph, 3 speed automatic gearbox, brilliant wire wheels.
The car comes with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate, number 29210 (issued 3rd April 2008). The car was registered on 6th June 1966 (D-Day!) and sold by Henlys Limited of London to Mr W. Spray & Son of Grimsby. Chassis number P1B 58390 BW, Engine number 7B 63463-8, Body number 4B 62959. Interior in suede green. The car spent some time in Mallorca and a full nut & bolt restoration was completed in 2001, I have a folder showing photos and bills of this.
I have had a huge amount of mechanical work done on the car to make it the lovely drive that it is. Recent work includes: alternator conversion, carburettor refurbishment, new subframe, front & rear mounting blocks, upper and lower wishbone bushes, anti-roll bar bushes, link rods, rear universal joint, cam cover gaskets, water pump, brake servo, brake fluid, engine oil, fuel senders, bonnet and boot insulation, washer bottle & motor, horn units, right hand tie rod end, front & rear brake pads, exhaust mountings, coil, 5 new authentic radial tyres, electronic distributor, HT leads, gearbox rubbers, oil filter, plugs, fan belt, wax-oiled, MOT September 2018. The original hand book, tool kit and fire extinguisher are in the boot, complete with a copper mallet. I have even had the car valeted inside and out.
I am asking for a very low price of £14,950 for this lovely car and a quick sale.
