|Regrettable sale of my 1973 Humber Sceptre Automatic, |
Currently moted till July 2018, But unfortunately, under new ruling, will be mot exempt as from April 2018, I don't agree with these new rules, and will certainly still be moting my other classics!
Currently showing approx. 60k miles, no previous history, but I have no reason to disbelieve shown mileage!
The Sceptre was rescued by the previous owner from a 9+ years slumber in an underground car park in Glasgow, During this time it did suffer some vandalism to paintwork, windows etc. However the said last owner fitted replacement glass, and had the car re-sprayed in its original colour. The dashboard wood was sprayed to match the paintwork? He also had the door caps professionally covered with vinyl along with the dash top. I have removed one rear door cap and pealed back the vinyl, and the veneer actually looks fine? Anyhow, he had the car re-commissioned and used it for a few shows down with him, I then bought the car in December 2014 and have used it for the two seasons at classic shows in the North East of Scotland!
The car drives well, but could maybe benefit from the carburettors being set up. For the mot this year, I had to have a small bit of welding done to the off-side rear of the sill. I have amassed approx. £400 of spare parts, and these will be sold with the car.
The interior of the car is where attention would be required to make it better, Mainly the two front seats, but it did not bother me!
I can personally deliver the car, throughout Scotland, for fuel cost. And there is a local transport company, that I use, who delivers throughout Britain, very reasonable!
Spares include parts for, suspension, brakes, steering, Grille, early type wheel trims, gaskets, correct tail box for exhaust, set of 4 doors with tinted glass, main dash wood panel. and lots more!
