For sale my favourite car of all time. I saw a car like this in 1976 and vowed one day I would own one! I bought the car in 2011 and it was mot'd so I drove it from London to Leeds. I knew it needed massive attention and that's what it got!
Bare metal respray, two new door skins, new vinyl roof, new headlining, new carpets, engine and gearbox rebuilt by Dave Bye at West Riding Jaguar.
Engine features:- Toughen'd crank, big valve heads, high compression pistons, twin SU carbs changed to chromed triple SU's with electric choke, electronic ignition, New radiator and running on Evans water-less coolant, new battery, alarm central locking immobiliser, new brake disks and pads all round with 4 new shocks on rear, Stainless steel exhaust recently fitted (6 Months), led lighting all round with brand new headlights(4), period (new) radio, Bluetooth, hands-free etc.
The car is kept in an outdoor Carcoon which recirculates the air and can even be put away wet and warm!!
I have replaced the rubber seals on all the windows including the last set of "hockey stick" rubbers for the rear windows. All electrics work fine, windows are slow but hey I'm never in a hurry when I drive her.
Now the things that are need doing:- paint is blistering slightly around headlights (cheap British Leyland steel)
a handy body guy can do this and another couple of blisters. Nothing serious at all and she has just sailed through MOT with no advisories. Wheels and all chrome-work is original apart from waist bands of which I have a full set but didn't want to have the bodywork drilled.
I am disabled and can't work on the car and to be honest she sits in the carcoon most of the year, so it's time with regret to pass her on to someone who will appreciate what Sir William Lyons said "The most beautiful Jaguar (Daimler) ever made).
Now on private plate which doesn’t come with car. GAZ8855.
