'What would a DS be without its proverbial internal? When in 1964 the DS Pallas made its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show, visitors had for the first time the chance to touch the exceptional quality of the leathers chosen to cover the interior. For one thing, it was not leather but genuine leather, worked with great care and made exceptionally soft. The second detail was less visible, but certainly not less important: the skin was not simply colored, but painted with a hand roller that dyed only the embossed parts with a darker brown, with a slightly perceptible leopard-stain varnish of great effect called in jargon "fog".
Initially available in natural leather only, the Pallas leather was first available in black, then a new tobacco tint that in 1970 took the place of natural leather.

Today the production of this leather is taken up thanks to the involvement of Enzo Forgione, an architect from Bolzano who supplies leathers of unexceptionable quality to fans all over the world.
Made with the same type of tanning and with the same painting technique, the interiors mounted on our DS are new, but perfectly identical to the originals.
Besides the leather, the seaming measures, the color and the material of the thread used are respected, as well as the invisible coverings, such as felt and jute cloth positioned between the padding and the leather'.
