We are delighted to offer this charming and immaculately maintained 1929 Austin Seven RK aluminium saloon.

Launched in 1928, the RK was the first of the wide door Seven saloons and this example is attractively finished in French blue over black with black rexine roof. The beautifully restored interior is upholstered in blue rexine, as it would have been originally and there are matching blue carpets.

Being a proper Vintage car all the brightwork is nickel plated and is in excellent order with the radiator shell having been re-plated relatively recently.

As a 1929 car it was one of the first generation of Sevens to feature coil ignition but much of the running gear is the same as the earliest cars with a three speed non-synchromesh gearbox, cable operated rear brakes with the handbrake operating on the front wheels. This make for an involving driving experience but one that is soon mastered.

All of the controls work beautifully and there are practical and worthwhile additions such as a battery charging terminal, door locks and direction indicators mounted on detachable panels with separate sockets. There is even a very discreet hazard warning switch. A screw jack and a number of tools accompany the car too.

The previous owner of thirteen years was most fastidious and kept the car in tip top order as shown by the Service Record Book that comes with the car. Other documentation includes a V5C, buff log book dating back to 1956, Handbook and a Heritage Certificate, which is rare for an Austin Seven as records are extant only for cars made between 1928 and 1930.

This is a really super little car which is absolutely is ready to use in all manner of events including those organised by the VSCC Light Car Section. Sevens are well supported by a number of specialists and several very active Austin Seven clubs.

As always I would consider taking an interesting vehicle in part exchange.
