About the NIKE Mk7:
The car originated as described in the letter by Ken Nichols. That is NIKE made up chassis to fit in a Lotus 23 body.
The chassis was restored by NIKE and is fitted with suspension, shockers (new) and some parts. Included are the brake disks and calipers.
All suspension is fitted and I got some old Triumph (Herald, Spitfire?) wheels as to move the car in my workshop.
Letters by Ken Nichols on the cars origin and restoration are available.
I purchased a new body from XANTHOS (than builder of Lotus 23 replicas) complete with windscreen etc. This was fitted by Solent Vintage Engineering. They constructed subframes etc also made the engine mounts.
You can find a Mk7 racing in USA on the internet. There is one hillclimbing in UK and another in classic racing.
Daughter Carole runs a register of the cars designed by her father Ken.
Resuming: there is now a car fitted with brakes, shockers, steering rack, master cylinders (to be rebuild probably), not the dummy engine on the pics (sold), a Hewland Mk6 gearbox, wheels and body (in white gel coat).
You will also get: new body parts (doors, wind screen, headlamp covers etc) and old/used fuel tank, oil tank, swirl pot, drive shafts, full Jaguar XJ6 instrument set, small leather steering wheel (I would rather fit a wooden one), dry sump oil pump. radiator and, I guess, some more small bits.
Price for all this 19500 euro.
If you want I can supply a Lotus twincan on strombergs complete or a X-flow rebuild but not tuned or a freshly rebuild BDA 1860cc.
