Lot 106

A 1957 Singer Gazelle Series 1 convertible , registration number ULK 505, chassis number A7603524HSO, engine number 7603503HOO, Pippen red over black. This rare and original Series 1 convertible has only had five registered keepers from new. The first owners were believed to be a father and son (Mr Norman & Mr Stafford Huskinson) who owned the car between 1957 and 1989. The third owner a Mr Pitman owned the car for the next 20 years until it was sold to the previous owner in 2009. When the previous owner acquired the car it was complete and running, he then stripped the car to embark on a rebuild. The engine and interior have been removed from the car to aid access for repairs. The current owner purchased the car from a Charterhouse auction (July 2012) and has since removed the paint and completed localised repairs to the bodywork in readiness for a full respray. The remainder of the car is in a similar state to when purchased with the engine and interior still removed and the soft top requiring replacement. This very original and solid convertible now offers the Rootes Group collector and exciting opportunity to acquire and restore a rare Series 1 car to its former glory. V5C, no MOT

£2000-3000 + 13. 2% Buyers premium (including 20% VAT)
