This has been my car for quite a few months now, which I'm now selling as I'm about to replace it. When I bought it last summer, I looked at quite a few W163 ML's prior purchasing this one, and at one point became somewhat despondent at the average standard of these vehicles being offered for sale. This one eventually came as breath of fresh air, and is so much better than the rest. The previous owner had bought it from a specialist dealer, and paid quite a lot of money for it; he, subsequently then kept it for over 5 years; I find this is always a good sign.
Bodywork, although not perfect (what W163 is!) is highly presentable as you can see from the photographs. There's a few minor marks here and there, and a couple of small blisters in the usual places; that said its better than most, and do bear in mind I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who likes the W201, W124's etc I sell to be almost flawless.
More importantly its mechanically and electrically perfect and has been very well maintained, indeed. It also does NOT suffer from the "Black Death Syndrome" which did afflict some of these cars, and is caused when the injector seals leak, causing atomized diesel to solidify into a horrible black tarry substance, under the engine cover. Electrically, all items also work exactly as they should, with all the warning lights illuminating and extinguishing as they should.
This vehicle has served me well, and I've found it to be an invaluable "tool". It's been absolutely impeccable in the recent snow, and also has a capacious load and people carrier. It's very lively, yet surprisingly economical for such a large vehicle, and is as happy cruising on the motorway, as it is on slippery surfaces. It's also fitted with removable (high quality) Westfalia tow bar, which although is barely used, is a very useful accessory as the W163 ML has the capacity to pull a house down if need be. Infact as I'm writing this, I'm beginning to wonder why I'm selling this car, and paying more money for the newer W164 ML, which is rumored to be somewhat less robust than this, it's predecessor!.
As this has been my own car, please be aware that I'm selling it on an "as is" basis, not as one of my usual fully prepared classic Mercedes. That said, this is a highly presentable and mechanically sound vehicle, that has been an ultra reliable servant for both myself and it's previous owner, and should, in all probability continue to give its new owner years of reliable service, and will be a brilliant vehicle for its new owner for years to come.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at http://www.mtsv.co.uk
Any other questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or on 07976 280738. I'm a firstly and foremostly a true Mercedes enthusiast of many, many years, and a Mercedes Club Member, so it's a pleasure to meet and speak to like-minded people.
Finally, I'm situated in Keighley, West Yorkshire (Postal Code Area BD21) which is approximately 11 miles from Skipton, and 20 miles West of Leeds.
