1985 2CV Dolly with very low mileage
This lovely car was an impulse buy last year. Unfortunately the garage I was using is in a block that has been sold to turn into flats, and I can't find any other secure parking within any reasonable distance or affordability. I can't bear this car deteriorating parked in the street. Dolly has been under a cover the past few weeks.
This is a very sound 35 year old 2CV that is still on its original chassis. It has only done 28,570 miles and the engine is barely run in. The MoT history suggests that the mileage is genuine. There are no rust spots I'm aware of, and the paintwork is OK and not dull, aside from the wheels where there is some flaking.
She drives beautifully, and we had a brilliant Summer and Autumn pootling about, re-living our student years with her. Dolly is largely unmolested aside from the front air vent being silicone sealed. Someone has attempted to address the typical leak that comes through the wiper assembly, which does happen if you go out in the driving rain or motorway.
My plan was to get this addressed along with a respray and tidy up/waxoyl. I also purchased some enhancements that I am listing on eBay now for sale separately. If interested offers are welcome as I can't store them forever having lost the garage space. They include
1. A full retro cream/white interior fittings set, with a very rare cream large Speedo and classic Citroen single spoke steering wheel. Very nice 1950s look, and would brighten up the interior
2. A double folding Dyane Weekend rear bench seat. Yes they fit the 2CV
3. A pair of modern headrest-equipped front seats with adaptor plate, to substitute the standard 2CV front seats. They are much firmer, and are comfortable and supporting
A 12v power outlet/cigarette lighter has been fitted, which also connects with a hot air blower (also fitted) to act as a screen demister.
The hatchback conversion has been fitted as well, so making the boot very easy to use.
I am in Ealing, West London very close to the A4, A40, A406 and M25.
