AUSTIN A35 1958 – clean and tidy car "Dugsy" For Sale
1958 Austin A35
The A35 was noted for reliability, practicality, ease of use and charm and the A35 was favoured as low-key road transport by racing drivers such as Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, and most famously, James Hunt, who, even after he made it big, still drove around in a tuned A35 van.
‘Dugsy’ is a deluxe model with features such as opening rear windows, floor carpets and twin front ashtrays. First registered on 11 March 1958 in Caithness.
Restored in 2011, beautifully presented in Ireland Blue. The restoration included new sills, repair panels for wings, and other welding as required. There has been a new paint job, new door seals, window rubbers, new clutch, brakes, timing chain etc. The seats are original, and the inside restoration includes new headlining, carpets, door cards.
The car comes with a folder of repairs etc, owner’s handbook, and workshop manual. Since purchase the car has been garage maintained, with regular servicing. Some of the bright work could be replaced if wanted, e.g. boot hinges and rear bumper.
Car purchased by current owner in September 2014. Current MOT certificate (although not required). We’ve enjoyed taking Dugsy to events as members of the A35 Club, but life changes forces a reluctant sale.
