The 330 P4 was a spectacular feat of engineering by Ferrari who produced one of the most beautiful and successful sports racing cars ever in the history of motor racing. Just four examples of the 330 P4 were ever constructed and competed with great success in period. They formed two of three Ferrari works entries at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona and dominated the event with a 1-2-3 victory which in turn created the unofficial name for the forthcoming GT Ferrari, the 365GTB/4 ‘Daytona.'
Our car is a hand built recreation of the sole 330 P4 Spyder and was painstakingly constructed with highly skilled craftsmanship. Little is known of the origins of the car but it is understood to have been built by Ferrari specialists in Italy with a hand built tubular chassis with part fibreglass part alloy bodywork. The shape of the car is exceptionally accurate as are many of the details including the finish of the dashboard, the cast wheels and long eared spinners which are testament to the attention to detail and overall quality of the car.
Powered by a 4.8L V12 Ferrari engine with four camshafts and six twin choke Weber carburettors, the gearbox is a five speed rear mounted unit believed to be of Porsche origin and the wonderful V12 soundtrack is emitted through the spectacular hand made ‘spaghetti’ exhaust system, correctly powder coated white. Performance as is electrifying as you would expect and driving this car is a very special experience.
UK road registered as a 1966 Ferrari, the cost of reproducing a 330 P4 to this standard today would cost in excess of £700,000. This outstanding recreation offers the chance to experience the sight, sound and thrill of an original 330 P4 at a fraction of the price. An exhilarating road car and guaranteed to cause a stir wherever it is driven, viewing is highly recommended!
