Launched in March 1961, the 3.8L Jaguar E-type was initially for export only, it wasn’t until the combination of looks, performance and pricing captured the British public’s imagination that the car launches domestically in July 1961. The 3.8 E-types had a number of defining features that were later removed including, beautiful bucket seats, ‘Jaguar’ boot script, and alloy dash on all but the very last. Although these were not the only telling features they are often the most recognisable.

This late 3.8 Litre 1964 Jaguar E-type was supplied new to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, originally supplied with the registration ‘8162 WK’ a designation normally given to Jaguar’s own “works” racing cars. This E-type was exported to the U.S for Mr. J. W. Deeming and was shipped as a ‘Personal Export Delivery’ E-type.

With extensive history dating back to December 1968, the first recorded mileage of 10,910 can be found a receipt dating from 1969 from a RAYMOND IMPORTED MOTORS of Cincinnati, Ohio at which time the E-type was owned by a Mr. Larry Heil with receipts present for his ownership going through to 1987.

By 2008, the E-type was being looked after by a Sports and Vintage Race Car company based in Georgia and owned by Mr. Richard Snyder. The first record of Mr. Snyder’s ownership dates from 1989 in Carmel, Indiana and receipts also from South Carolina under the same ownership.

Eventually in 2010, the E-type was exported back to the UK, supplied with original Georgian title, the E-type remained in Mr. Snyder’s ownership until this time. Upon being importing back to the E-type was stripped down during divorce proceedings in order to de-value the E-type and as such begun the restoration.

After 6 years in restoration, E-Type UK acquired the project and took the E-type back to bare metal and re-finished the car in stunning Opalescent Gunmetal Grey. This matching numbers E-type is currently being built up to the highest specification, with most of our upgrades to be added. If you wish to change this decision, you can purchase the car, change it to your exact specification and it will be priced accordingly. You will be able to follow the build closely.
