1966 Rover 3 Litre Coupe Mk 3 For SaleGreetings, and welcome to the sale of this rather lovely 3 litre Coupe.
It has been off the road for 4 years, and only done 6K miles since 2003.
In the last 2 months, I have gone right through the car and done a huge amount of work, to bring it up to its present standard.
Since Xmas, I have done about 1,200 miles, in all weather, totally trouble free, so can confirm that its ready to go, short or long journeys. In fact, just before NYE, I did 556 miles in a day and a half, through all that terrible weather, with quite a bit of snow driving included. She never missed a beat, and having flushed the cooling system and refilled with good anti-freeze, both front and rear heaters kept me nice and warm !!
Anyway, my work included, 5 new wheels and tyres, new battery, all new brakes, including servo, flexis, bleed nipples, fluid, etc , new carpets, seat belt bolts, doors and boot rubbers, petrol pump, anti roll bar rubbers and fixings, coil, plugs, cap, leads, rotor and condenser. All interior and dash bulbs now LED - makes a huge difference. New water bottle. Engine oil and filter.Wiper blades. Heater motor brushes.
All tools present. Recently also had a new water pump, hoses etc.
All seats have been out to fit new carpets, so treated to 3 litres of neatsfoot oil.
Everything that can be oiled has been, locks hinges etc.
Car has previously had extra underseal applied, in fact the underside is quite remarkable.
Included is a huge amount of documentation going back to 1978, as well as articles, workshop manual, oil chart etc.
MOT till next Xmas.
Headlights have been uprated and front sidelights are LED.
I have added extra LED boot and bonnet lights, so you can actually see at night, and extra LED button kick panel lights, which come on with the interior lights when you open the doors.
New stereo and speakers fitted but without any modifications to the original, so you can change back if desired.
Its a fantastic, rare and very well appreciated car, drawing attention and praise wherever you go.
Obviously its not new, so there are some minor niggles, for example, the lower half has been resprayed and although very passable, its not to Bentley standards. There are a couple of stone chips.
However, I mention the above as a matter of honesty, not as excuses, as the car is quite lovely, and will give many years of pleasure. In true Rover tradition - well, Rovers back then anyway, its a very warm, comfortable and safe way to travel, not to mention classy and an improving financial asset. If I did not have other cars to rebuild, I would be keeping it.
Anyway, I am sure you get the picture. Any questions, give me a shout, on 07879-641-676. I am in West Wales.
No trade ins - I have too many cars already, lol.
