Part of a private collection, this special car isn’t a “garage queen”, sleeping in a climate controlled basement. At all. Since it was born, it has been running, faster and faster. All the modifications added to this car are performance-oriented, and period correct, with care to the little detail.
The engine had been replaced in the past, by a correct 1973 2.4S engine, same year as the car, as the engine block number can confirm.
Not being “matching numbers” anymore, the engine was completely rebuilt to 2.7 RS specification by a renowned Porsche specialist, in 2012 (a 29000-euro bill for the engine rebuild only), which gives this car 2.7RS performance for a fraction of the price, and slight more discretion on the road. A stainless exhaust and a lightweight lithium battery were added too.
On track days, she plays in a different league than stock 2.4S.
The car has done 3000 kms since the engine and gearbox were rebuilt.
Adjustable Sway-a-Way rear bars, alloy calipers, 15” Fuchs.
The interior is complete and genuine, apart from period Recaro Classic black leatherette sports seats and harnesses, a Motolita steering wheel and a 4 point bolt-in cage.
The body and paint are in superb condition (old restoration). It was fitted with 2.7RS rear wing panels to fit larger wheels, and a light weight front spoiler. Some trace of repairs is visible on the inner right front end. (light damage -correctly- repaired in the past, but with period-correct little attention to hide any trace of repair.).
In case you want to play the full 2.7 RS game, we also have a spare ducktail rear spoiler and bonnet, but we reckon she looks much better with the original engine cover and bonnet, a bit like the Mother of all Singers.
The original back seats, and seatbelts are present, but not fitted on the car at the moment.
This is a unique opportunity to buy a genuine 1973 2.4S, a bit on steroids, with sensible upgrades, at a very cool price.
Surveyed by a renowned classic car inspector (valued at 135 000 euros), report available on request.
Complete and extensive bills of invoices since 2011, past history should arrive soon from the former owner.
Certificate of authenticity from the Porsche factory with check of the secret number will be ordered once a serious purchase contact is made, no need to ask or complain about why the car was upgraded to such an extent, as it was the owner’s desire, back when these cars were made for tarmac, not for show-off on carpets. The asked price is relevant.
The car is located in Paris, France.
