All the mechanical modifications are bolted on, so if you wanted to back to original, it would be quite straightforward.
This car has had a vast amount of work done by its previous owner who was a retired engineer, who unfortunately is unable to complete the project due to ill health.
Here is what he had written about the car:
MG YB being restored planned colour in two tone Jaguar Midnight Blue and Silver Blue below waste-line.
MGB 1800cc engine, reground crank, new bearings, twin SU's, gearbox, rear axle, rear Koni's, front discs brakes and rear drums and exhaust are standard MGB parts.
​Seats are redesigned for comfort made in 1930's style in 2 tone blue to match the body work.
​The bottom of the body has been replaced with new metal taking over 200 man hours alone to complete.
The engines has a reground crank and new bearings and bottom end gasket set.
All oils have been changed.
New brake and clutch master cylinder.
The radial tyre's are as new.
The car had an MOT and tested on the road before the body was removed for repair.
The trafficator's were refurbished.
MGA Midnight blue powder coated steel wheels.
Comes with easy clean MG number plate.
Cellulose paint has been used 100% though unfinished the bottom half is in filler primer grey and rubbed down with 600 grit wet and dry ready for any paint on top.
The four wings have a base coat of Midnight blue ready for either T cut or rubbing down for fine finish coat.
​All parts to finish are included in the selling price and have been package and labeled to make an easy rebuild to finish the car apart from a new dash (cost £210) which can be supplied by NTG Motor Services, Ipswich telephone 01473 406 031 who carry an excellent range of spares new and 2nd hand.

As you can see he was rebuilding the car to a high standard, as it was intended to be used to do long distance tours, at speed and in comfort.
