1937 MORRIS 8 SERIES ONE TWO-SEATER ROADSTER TOURER SOLD
|1937 Morris 8 Series One Two Seater Roadster Tourer|
This nippy little car affectionately known as Dorothy is MoT and road tax exempt. There have been 5 former keepers and the mileage of 90000 is believed to be correct. This Series One roadster model was manufactured for a period of only one year from 1937 and was built with 2 seats instead of the usual 4 in order to keep the selling price down to £99. This was a promo carried out by Morris to beat Austin and because of this very few were made. That makes this car a rarity indeed! This particular car was displayed on the Morris 8 stand at the NEC classic car show in Nov 2017. It is finished in deep black with maroon trim and complemented by a beige hood. The Reg No DKM 955 is both valuable and transferable. An extensive engine rebuild was undertaken in 2016 at a staggering cost of £5200 and has travelled only 565 running in miles since the rebuild. The three large A4 history folders include photos, write ups, current and previous V5s, previous Mot certificates, Morris postcard, DVLA paperwork, old tax discs, bill of sale, mileage report, explanation of extensive engine rebuild, invoices circa £15000, original Handbook, profile book, insurance and technical article paperwork, Penrite lube data and chart sheets, ops manual, hood paperwork, workshop manual, Practical Classic write up, business cards, correspondence, show attendance paperwork, Morris Newsletters Mags, Members Handbook, spares book etc. Features: unique 2 seater roadster hood with sidescreens, wire wheels, honeycomb grille, rear luggage rack, special horn, folding windscreen, oil dispenser can and chrome fire extinguisher under bonnet, door mirror, folding seats, complete toolkit incl starting handle, 8 grille emblem, special dash, chrome and brass fittings, black battery. Dorothy at 80 years old looks fabulous and would enhance any collection or sparkle at any show. £13995
