1961 Jaguar E-type Open two Seater, left hand drive. French market car, built on 30th August 1961, 875 prefix chassis number. Originally Opalescent Dark Blue with a biscuit trim and blue hood. Must have looked magnificent on 8th September 1961 when it was collected from the showroom in Paris. I think the French motorshow car was the same colour, which was probably what swung the colour choice.
It was my uncles for many years prior to me. Ive had it in the UK dry stored since 2011. I have declared the NOVA, although thankfully it was pre that being required. I have a copy of the Certificate d’immatriculation but nothing else apart from a Heritage Certificate.
I want to make it clear that it is NOT matching numbers, nor is it complete. It is a rust free (or rather cosmetic rust only) left hooker car, which is missing the bonnet, original engine, seats, pedal box, interior trim and so on. It is collection of parts which overall need to be carefully restored. It had a blow over in british racing green for some reason.
I have with it the head and block (RA prefix) of a E-type engine, the sump, triple carbs, air filter along with a spare 3.8 MK9 engine.
It is sold as seen, a very desirable and rare project which will be very rewarding - but not for me!
