1976 Mgb v8,heritage roadster re-build.DEPOSIT TAKEN SOLD

was £15995 now dropped to £12995, need garage space for new toy. I have owned this mgb v8 for the past five and a half years, i purchased her from the chap who had carried out the heritage re-shell, i drove her back from north wales to hereford and immediately put the car into my local mg garage to have her changed from a rubber bumper car to a chrome one, well this ended up being a financial disaster for me as one thing led to another,

the car was originally a factory mgb gt v8 with service history passport service book all very original but rust got the better of it, so previous owner purchased a heritage shell with bonnet boot and doors, had it painted in british racing green metallic, then everything mechanical was re-built painted and fitted into new shell, at that time v8 chrome bumper shells were not available and as the donor was a rubber bumper v8, i fully understand the route of buying a rubber bumper shell as everything just bolts in and is more correct.

so i decided to change it, what was supposed to happen was the conversion to chrome bumpers, what i actually ended up doing was completely stripping it down externally, having the conversion done. car fully repainted externally and inside boot, everything shiny on the exterior is brand new, new quarter lights, new door handles, new locks, new bumpers, new grille, every light replaced, it goes on, the bonnet was louvered by an ex morgan chap, the look has been to give it that of the early mgb, so round tail lights, basic looking piped seats, full chrome over-riders, early fluted grille, etc.

basically the car was away for over four years, the mg chap seemed to of had some mental brake down, i got the car back about 18 months ago but i have spent the last 2 years getting back the dash board, clocks, windscreen surround, and air filter assemblies that were being re-furbished, the clocks have been and look superb in cream and burgundy,

so it needs finishing, i am a bit fed up with it, lost my enthusiasm, it needs finishing off, its all just about there, will need dash re-furbing, new crash pad on dash new dash top vynal, windscreen frame needs powder coating and re-assembly, have screen but it is scratched, correct v8 air filters (lobster claw type)have been sand basted, but need doing again and powder coating silver. will need new hood, i have tonneau cover, full and half in mohair, both new, hood frame is all painted as new ready to fit. the interior is all brand new, leather seats piped green, new carpets, new door cards piped green, new black/ silver pressed plates, new boot carpet, mechanically loads has been done, re-fubished correct v8 calipers, new disks, pads, track rod ends, steering gaitors, ball joints, bearings re-built rear drums, new fuel pump and fuel pipes, new oil cooler new remote, new oil cooler pipes, new 15"inch wheels yokohama tyres, new water pump, will come with large bore twin box system not single box system as pictured. absolutely loads and loads of stuff has been re-placed.

i have a large history file for this car, loads of photos, before during and after original re-build,

it is correctly registered with dvla as a british motor heritage re-shell and as such has a new chassis no, original chassis tag in history file, car retains its original registration no.

it has done a total of around 12 thousand miles since re-shell, and with a final enthusiastic push will be finished in a month or so ready for summer.

i am out of love with it at the moment so if it floats your boat, give me a call,

i know finished it would be worth circa 25k, so with a bit of work it makes financial scene,

probably needs about £1000 spent on it to finish.
