Bertram My Hillman minx Audex 1956 convertible 1390. new project forces reluctant sale. I've owned Bert for about five years, I smile every time I drive him, column change four speed I've put a new clutch, thrust bearing, pressure plate, slave cylinder,replaced all break shoes new copper lines and wheel cylinders. plus servo brake upgrade.so he stops correctly. Carburetor has been stripped and all new jets and float bowl new electric fuel pump and regulator,New alternator upgrade. New battery which is relocated in boot to allow access for servo plus anti thrift device.
no tax or MOT required but serviced by an MOT Mechanic every year.new hub caps wheel bearings inner axle bearing various gaskets new tyres new ignition barrel, new tonnue cover for roof I'm sure there's more but forgotten. bert is a solid old bus and needs no welding as clean underneath as on top older resto be in fine fettle new project imminent so the old fellow must go
Bad bits. it has a new roof but ill fitting wants looking at and refitting on the to do list clock don't work not. filler in rear seal needs sanding. Bert dose slip out of third gear on overrun sometimes but only sometimes not all ways.The gear box was stripped when clutch replaced not a tooth problem its a needle roller bearings problem, bearings bought but not fitted I've not found it a problem as only happens in third gear.
This is a 60 odd years old car so not perfect But can still draws a crowd of pictures takers.and very usable and great fun I tried to be honest as I can but please come and inspect Bertram for yourself he pulls very well and keeps up well with today's traffic he will not disappoint you he is on the button and ready to go.

Had another look at the roof and since the warmer weather the roof has stretched a bit and fits a lot better than I first thought as I never put the roof up I have more photos if required
Took Bertram to a car show on the week end as weather was nice 75 mile round trip never missed a beat and won best in class. and still puts a smile on my face.

Hillman minx series 6 1967 auto, car in very good condition in and out, had car 4years, car has had new carb, starter motor, radiator,battery, new brakes all around, new tyres, new carpets and 8track radio,engine and auto gear box very good, drives very well.
Auctioneers notes: This 57 year old Minx runs however is being sold as a rolling project. It is the 1600 model with floor gear change. The trim is all there but needs a good clean and TLC.
