This superb Aston Martin was delivered to its first UK owner on the 6th June 1960. the car has had only three owners from new and has remained in the UK throughout its life. A genuine "all matching numbers car" as confirmed by the build data from Aston Services Dorset. The car is in concours condition and is finished in the very desirable colour combination of California Sage Metalic Green (Aston Martin Racing green)with Connolly Vaumol Luxan 8500 Suede green leather and matching dark green Wilton carpets. The car was supplied with a heated rear screen and correct period radio which it still retains.
Mileage is only 7,661 since a total professional restoration. Total mileage is 83,936 and has a full service history from new, fully documented restoration history plus a very detailed 10 page Technical Build Specification on all aspects of the restoration.
The original 3.7 liter engine was rebuild by Motormann Engineering (who supply engines to Aston Martin Works)to 4.2 liter Vantage / SS series specification and has been converted to unleaded.The engine has polished cam covers with yellow and black competition plug leads, triple black 2"SU carbs, as per the show car specification in 1960.
The 4.2 litre engine develops 309 BHP at 5.000 RPM with 318 ft lbs of torque ( Dyno Test Data available to Confirm this performance). Oil pressure at 80psi at 3,000 rpm (hot). A lightweight alloy radiator, up-rated oil cooler, up-rated brakes and Kenlow fan cooling. The car has the standard David Brown gear box with a high ration back axle at 3.33-1, fly off racing handbrake.The car will be supplied with new radial tires to customers choice with a new heavy duty battery and a full service.
The car has concours awards from AMOC and represents one of the finest DB4s in the UK.
