2003 Bentley Mulliner Azure Final Series Performance
- Just 2,075 miles from new
- True collectors dream
- Car 47 of only 65 world-wide
- Extremely special and true automotive Royalty
On the 7th March 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show, Rolls Royce Motor Cars Ltd unveiled a convertible version of the Bentley Continental R, called the ‘Azure’ which gathered inspiration from the long coastal roads of the Azure coastline of the glorious French Rivera. The newly arrived car was the first entirely new convertible since 1967. The much-acclaimed Continental R lines have been superbly adopted to convertible form by Crewe with the assistance of Pininfarina. It is hailed by its makers as ‘The world’s best convertible’ unmatched in its time in both performance and potency. It is in every sense a Bentley, with perfect interior refinement and a flowing silhouette. This is a car that takes a mere 25 seconds for its roof to glide away revealing the freedom of the heavens. Freedom symbolised by the Flying ‘B’ radiator mascot proudly installed atop that famous radiator grille. An iconic piece of sculpture reinterpreted for the new century.
When production ceased in 2003 a total of only 1,321 Azures of all types had been built. One of the rarest of Azure developments was the 'Final Series Performance' (FSP) version with only 62 examples of which were completed towards the end of production, during 2002/2003. The 'FSP' was based on the Bentley Azure Mulliner, which came with an engine up-rated to produce 420bhp, suitably stiffened suspension, and various other improvements.
Finished in special-order Silver Peal metallic coachwork with Stratos Connelly hide, Granite Wilton Carpets & Grey Hood, this Azure comes with all the usual features one would expect of a top-of-the-range Bentley, plus a number of special non-standard items fitted prior to delivery. These include: Flying ‘B’ embossed Burr Walnut wood work, Quilted leather, Twin touring embossed umbrellas, Polished Chrome wing mirrors, Stainless headlamp surrounds & Audible reversing aid.
As a unique opportunity and true collectors dream we have great delight in offering car number 47 in factory fresh condition as the day it rolled off the production line in 2003. The coach work and hide are both faultless, the underside of the car is in what can only be described as ‘time warp’ condition with all suspension tags, stickers and original clear coat wax still applied.
With a genuine 2,075 miles from new, complete with factory dating letter, build sheets, complete tool set, owners hand books and original service book, this is a unique opportunity and possibly the lowest mileage example available to the market today.
