More About the Car
I bought the car in April 2013 with 96,000 miles and it has been my daily driver since then.
It has been carefully maintained by me and its 5 previous keepers and is accompanied with a very extensive history file which includes all its MoT certificates, and invoices for servicing and repairs since 2006.
Its MoT expires 9th September 2018.
I have had the serviced at least annually by reputable garages and Saab experts and it has been maintained as necessary to keep it running right. Recent major work includes:
• 2018: Overhauled transmission, including the gearbox being rebuilt by noted marque specialist “2 Stroke to Turbo”.
• 2017: Replacement clutch, including new slave and master cylinders
• 2016: New alternator and fuel pump
• 2014: New stainless exhaust system.
The car is shod with Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance tyres, which were fitted at 123k (fronts) and 100k (rears).
The grey cloth interior is in excellent condition, including the headlining which is immaculate.
Bodywork is generally very good except that there are some blisters over the two front wheel arches (by the bodykit), there is some peeling lacquer on the front and rear bumpers (see photo), and a scratch and repaired stone chip on the windscreen. I have new Saab/Scania bonnet and boot badges to be provided with the car for its new owner. New old stock Saab headlight lenses have been fitted and several difficult to find trim pieces have been replaced along the way too.
Bad stuff? Well when I bought the car the air conditioning had been disabled, and the auxiliary outside temperature gauge wasn’t working. I haven’t had those items fixed.
Overall the car is in very good order and it goes, steers, and stops as it should. It is quiet and well-mannered on the road but with plenty of performance available when needed.
The 900 Turbo remains an iconic car, and mine continues to attract a lot of admiring and affectionate attention in car parks, garage forecourts, and the like.
I am happy to answer any questions about the car in advance of any viewings. I am located just off the M3 in Hook, Hampshire.
