A great example of the iconic Mk1 Capri, which is in great enjoyable and usable condition, just in time for summer!

Purchased new by Mr Martinelli on the 13th of February 1974, the car was clearly Mr Martinellie’s pride and joy, with vast amounts of invoices over the years within the file.
The car remained with Mr Martinelli until October 2004, so that is over 30 years with the original owner!

The second owner was Mr Goldsmith from 2004 – 2014, so again, another long term ownership of 10 years.

And this brings us to the third owner, from 2014 – 2017 when the car came to ourselves.

A comprehensive history file is with the car, showing that the car has had regular maintenance over the years, the history goes all the way back to the original purchase invoice in 1974 showing that the car has custom pack and a few options as detailed in relevant areas further in the listing, and the first MOT in 1977.
Also in the file is the original spare key, brochures, and the original V5 document.

Body & Paintwork:
Repainted in the original colour of Daytona Yellow in December 2013.
No welding was carried out when the repaint took place, it was purely due to age related marks and the fading/dulling of the original paintwork.

All chrome trim is also in good condition, as can be seen in the pictures.
Mirrors fitted as an option as per original purchase invoice.

This is not the usual rusty Mk1 Capri, no doubt with thanks to the Ziebart treatment from new as stated on the original purchase invoice.
Whilst we would not describe it as concours or perfect, this car certainly presents very nicely and would make a fantastic usable classic.

The wheels were fitted new in 2013 also, and the tyres all have good tread remaining.

The lights are in good condition, and the badges are all original.
All glass is in good condition, and the Webasto roof operates well.

As can also be seen in the pictures, the vinyl roof is still in good condition and is original.

Interior & Trim:
The original invoice states, that the trim is ‘saddle trim’,

Also sporting a heated rear window and inertia seatbelts from new.

Overall the interior presents well, although it does show a few signs of age/usage in places a couple of places.
Namely a tear in the drivers seat bolster, which was caused by a srewdriver in the rear pocket of a previous owner – easily repaired or indeed a seat cover means it is not visible.

An aftermarket stereo is fitted, with speakers fitted to the door cards – whilst not original, it does help make the car more usable/enjoyable on long journeys.

Everything works as it should do, and the colour combination really does look great.

A 2.0L engine has been fitted, along with a 5 speed gearbox.
The original owner had this work carried out, as he felt it improved the cars performance, and made it a much more usable cruising car.

Of course, the car runs well, and was serviced only 2,800 miles ago.

On the road, the car has no problem in flowing nicely with today’s pace of traffic flow, and feels great to drive.

The engine bay itself presents well, especially when considering the age of the vehicle.
The engine bay was painted when the car had its professional repaint in 2013, which included the removal of the engine, so rest assured the engine bay matches the exterior finish.

Running Gear:
As with the rest of the car, all running gear operates just as you would expect.

The clutch and gearbox operate nicely, and braking is efficient with new front calipers having been fitted recently.

The underside was undersealed in 2013 when the repaint was carried out, and has since been done again, including the box sections to ensure longevity of the chassis condition with regular usage not being a concern.
