UK bike - 1987 - 49206 miles in very good condition and completely standard apart from bar end mirrors and an oil temp dipstick. MOT 07-07-19. I have always thought these were one of the best looking bikes ever to come out of Japan and finally bought this one in July 2016. I have just been using it for sunny weekend rides and one trip to Scotland (when even in torrential rain it never missed a beat).
It's always garaged and cleaned regularly, everything works, rides great, totally reliable, starts 1st or 2nd kick (and once warmed up almost always starts 1st kick). Its been "hibernating" since November, I got it out last week and it started on the 5th kick. It is happy cruising at 70/80 all day and will still get too 100+ if you push it and for such a narrow light bike I find it surprisingly comfortable on the longer runs I have done.
It had quite a big service last year (£643.77) which included:
Oil (and filter)
New float valve assembly and needle valves
Fork seals replaced (and oil)
The guy that had it before me kept very good records of everything spent on it and I have got a folder full of receipts and invoices. There was major work carried out in 1999 where it looks like it was fully restored (at a cost of £2347.40) I have a genuine uk Yamaha factory service manual and an expandable oxford tailpack which will be included (as I think it goes really well with the bike) and two keys
All in all I think it is a very nice clean original SRX, its not showroom condition but if you want one of these i cant believe there are many in a better original condition. I would happily set off on it tomorrow for the South of France and am only selling it as I have just bought a CB 750 four K2 and I am "not allowed" to have 2 bikes ".......just sat in the garage collecting dust….” etc etc
