We are delighted to have found a good sized history file with two service books showing numerous dealer and specialist service stamps and 29 previous MOTs to authenticate the mileage.
The car is currently showing 56,719 miles but there is a documented speedo change at approximate 50,000 miles in 2004, BUT the replacement speedo was a second hand unit already showing 51,000 miles so with the MOT evidence we believe the 57,000 miles to be largely accurate within a couple of 000 miles or so.
The body and undersides are sound, the paintwork has been kept up together with various local repairs and repaints that still look good but there are a few blisters around the car starting to show through but no open rust patches and no sign of the usual scuttle corrosion problems so common on SLs.
With the recently found history file and our honest and frank assessment of the car's condition we believe the car represents excellent value for money with a good basis for additional work which could make this an exceptional, low mileage find.
We have just completed an annual service together with a new MOT.
