Moto Morini 350 Sport. A rare original first-year-of-production 1975 Disc-brake bike in unmucked-about-with original condition
This particular model was only made for a few months with the rounded tank and side-panels of the outgoing drum-brake Sport and is even more rare than the drum-brake bikes
On the Morini Riders Club Forum, this bike was declared one of the rarest and THE most desirable Morini 350 Sport, as the factory introduced gearbox-selector mods to cure problems with the drumbrake Sport that everyone seems to want (with its boat-anchor front brake). Ive had Morinis for 30 years and have seldom seen another of these early Sports
UK registered on a P-plate, this bike is remarkably original. It has the original Borrani flanged-alloy rims, the rare bevelled rocker-covers only fitted to the earlier bikes, and despite no bike in less need of a steering-damper, this Morini still has its factory-fitted damper and Marzocchi shocks.
The 21000 kms on the clock could well be genuine. IA compression-tester on each cylinder reveals 165psi, which is almost brand-new condition
This bike is a first kick starter, sweet running, serviced, fresh oil, carbs balanced and ready for summer.
Despite not now needing one, I have put this bike through an MOT test after buying and recommissioning it as a long-parked non-runner and it flew through with no advisories
Simple, easy to maintain, light and nimble, not to mention ridiculously economical and now free of MOT and Tax, these 350s are a joy to ride
As ever the reason for sale is too many projects, not enough time and space.
You are unlikely to find another of these to buy and Morinis remain a bargain compared with many other classics on the market - a well-kept secret.
