This is an extremely special bike as its a swiss frame that was imported by Slaters and then actually assembled by Roger slater himself (Letter from Fritz himself to confirm)
The bike was owned .....
A beautiful example in utterly reliable mechanical order. Serviced by Conway Motors, including new rear damper internals, rebuilt Forks, new brake shoes (all of them) and an electric start fitted and Alton 12v. Cosmetically it is excellent easily 8.5 out of 10. Engine number F10 AB/1B/3103 engine .....
The factory records show this genuine Black Shadow was completed 19th July 1951 and
dispatched to Whittaker's of Blackpool where it was registered FFR 69 on the 24th ’51.
These records also show that the upper frame member (UFM) was incorrectly stamped and recored as 9224 it was then corrected .....
This unique outfit has a VOC authenticated white shadow engine, one of only 17 built, and a history set out by VOC. It is very nicely restored and had a full engine rebuild by the owner before last with a listing of parts renewed. Largely stainless fasteners replace originals, with very good chrome .....
